Hmm, I try to stay out of these discussions as I have little of relevance to add, not being a member of any of the factions/corps involved.
That said, I am slightly confused. Heretic Nation gets attacked by Tribal Militia pilots(?) and then leaves the Militia (were they in the militia or an outside force aiding it like U'K?) and declares they are engaging in NBSI tactics. After that they join some other pirate groups to attack PIE as part of some grand machination on the part of Revan Neferis (was this a unilateral decision or were they hired by Neferis or what... or is it simply taking advantage of the other wardecs to pile on top of PIE?)
This communication was supposedly a ruse(?) and Heretic is now aligned with the other pirates (TFS and Malevolent Intentions?) after they attacked Heretic Nation? All against PIE? I have to be missing something.
Was Heretic Nation attacked? Was that a lie? Is Heretic acting in accord with the other pirate corps? Are they attacking everyone involved? Is it like a case of friendly competition with TFS and Mal. Int. for PIE kills? I must admit that I dont understand. Please correct my lack of understanding.
May the Light of God guide you, Pilots. ((seriously slightly confused))
This is a case of Pirates angered by our loss of hunting grounds since the Empyrean Age began. Consider us the 5th militia, and we're going take back what was ours.

We understand the nature of our target, although we have a hard time adjusting. See, we've never fought cowards before
And you Gaven have absolutely no seat to speak at this table, as you have become the posterboy for cowards. Your little stunt made us pity you. Seriously? Are you going to talk down to us when we retreat to regroup, and then turn tail and run at the first sign of danger to yourself? You have already proven to us you're not a worthy adversary, which means we're just going to hunt you like the dog you are now.
Now if you don't mind, there's combat pilots having a discussion here -- shoo.
Seriously? Yes. Seriously.

There is little point in staying to die when your ship has failed to attain a lock due to onboard computer malfunction and has dropped to under half armor in roughly ten seconds (Battlecruisers do not fare well when primaried by entire fleets of tier 2 and 3 battleships) of hostile concentrated fire. Had the fight lasted longer before the FC called for a general disengagement I would have been back into the engagement.
Or are you saying that you have never heard of the concept of a tactical retreat?
The "tactical retreat" of 1 single ship can sometimes be confused with "running in fear". You must forgive my mistake.
That was sarcasm by the way.
edit: and I'm sure you were in half armor in just under 5 seconds actually.

Just to repeat myself: War is the art of making the other side fight on your terms, rather than theirs. If you can't do that, then clearly you are the inferior tactician.
If you can't make them come and fight you, or stick around even when they'd rather not, then you are a FAILURE as a tactician and a combat pilot.
Thank you for your valuable input Stitcher, we will be contacting you for further lessons in tactics.

A war dec? Seriously? Get in line.
Pilot, if you think that was a threat, you're in for a surprise. Duty. seems to be at war with EVERYONE these days and, more to the point, we enjoy it. I wouldn't be surprised if my CEO decides to make it mutual, just for giggles.
No... that's not exactly what I meant. I don't know who Duty. is and I don't care. We War Dec'd at the request of our client, because if you hadn't noticed we're pirates and war decs hardly benefit us.
I was referring to you being an overflowing encyclopaedia of PvP tactics and strategies. The sarcasm seems to have been lost on you.
Don't bother replying to this post, as I don't intend to respond to any more of yours.

... I'd have to beg to differ on that: being able to use interceptors and ECM cruisers on gates without worrying about turret range is a major benefit. It's more that, assuming outlaw status, nothing is gained by wardeccing pirates.
It's not like they can't generally be shot, anyway.
Well I said hardly
